Last night the MGM Grand poker room in Las Vegas played host to the charity poker tournament that would raise money for Road 2 Recovery. Seventy five players entered the tournament to show their support and help raise money for the charity. In the end, Tiffany Michelle of Ultimate Bet walked away the winner.
Several poker pros were in attendance along with Tiffany Michelle to show their support and play for the worthy cause. Jennifer Harmon and her husband Marco Traniello, Hoyt Corkins, Todd Brunson, Jeff Madsen and Jamie Gold were among those competing.
Players could enter the tournament for $300 and they could rebuy chips for $100 during the first four levels of play and add on for another $100. The first place prize, which went to Tiffany, was a seat to the World Series of Poker Main Event 2009. Curtis and Company designed two watches that went to second and third place.
A silent auction was also held to raise money for Road 2 Recovery. Items up for bidding included: autographed helmets signed by LaDainian Tomlinson, Marion Barber, Dan Marino, Peyton Manning and Eli Manning. Boxing and Wrestling memorabilia was also on display for bidding.
The Road 2 Recovery Foundation was created in 2000 after Jimmy Button was in a motorcycle accident that left him injured. Bob Moore, Bob Walker and Jimmy Button created the charity to provide financial and emotional assistance when riders needed help.
