WSOP Kicks Off Today
Players can finally begin to flex their skills at the poker table as the 2009 WSOP kicks off today. Players have been practicing online as well as at the felt to ready themselves for the stiff competition that will take place at the most anticipated poker series of the year.
This is the fortieth edition of the World Series of Poker and it will kick off today at noon with a $500 no limit hold’em casino employee event. Beginning tomorrow the first open buy-in event will take place with event number 2 the $40,000 no limit hold’em event. This event was added to the schedule to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of the WSOP.
The Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas is hosting the event which will include the big events of the $10,000 no limit hold’em heads up world championship, the $10,000 no limit hold’em main event and the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. world championship.
It will be very interesting to see which poker pros will win bracelets or if we will see many new faces earning top spots at the WSOP events.
