World Series of Poker Circuit Back in Action at Harrah
The World Series of Poker Circuit has begun again this time starting at Harrah’s Atlantic City. The first two events have been played with the first event seeing a great turnout, the biggest yet for a WSOPC event in Atlantic City.
Event number one was a $340 No Limit Hold’em tournament that took place this past Saturday. Just over one thousand players competed in the event which created a $354,300 prize pool. The winner was not determined until almost twenty four hours of game play had been completed over a two day period.
Heads up play lasted ninety minutes between Raymond Rossi Jr, a twenty one year old student, and Metin Guven Esen of New York. Esen was down 2-1 in chips when heads up play began but he managed to gain the lead and eventually the win.
The final hand came when Rossi went all in with pocket threes and Esen called with 10-8. The flop came 9-8-9 which put Esen in the lead with a King and five on the turn and river, it was all Esen. The winner took home a nice prize of $85,032 while Rossi won $47,848 for his second place finish.
