Sportsbook to Offer Live Betting on WSOP Final Table

If the already wide range of betting options available for the World Series of Poker Main Event final table isn’t enough to satisfy your gambling needs, at least one sportsbook is offering live in-play betting for the action, allowing observers to take advantage of the constantly changing odds throughout the course of the final table.
According to a report at CardPlayer.com, bookmaker Matchbook.com will be offering the same in-play betting options usually associated with sporting events during the play of the WSOP Main Event on Sunday and Tuesday. This means that the odds will dynamically change with every elimination or big pot.
Typically, in-play betting is used for live sporting events to allow gamblers to try to pick critical moments during the match when the odds will turn in their favor. A bookmaker will be on hand to alter the odds as events unfold. For instance, if a goal is scored in a football match, the odds will be tilted heavily in favor of the team who scored; if a key player is injured on that team, the odds might move back the other way.
However, there are a few things to watch out for if you want to make money while betting in-play on the poker action. In particular, players may not want to rely on the “live” coverage provided by ESPN in order to handicap their in-play bets. Since the ESPN coverage will be shown on a 15-minute delay, players making bets based on the televised coverage will be well behind those who are acting on live updates.
The final table – and the live betting – will begin Sunday afternoon. The current odds to win the Main Event are as follows:
Martin Staszko: 9-2
Eoghan O’Deal: 5-1
Ben Lamb: 11-2
Matt Gianneti: 13-2
Phil Collins: 7-1
Anton Makiievskyi: 9-1
Pius Heinz: 11-1
Badih Bounahra: 12-1
Sam Holden: 16-1
