Wheeling Island Held First WSOP Qualifier, Success
Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino Racetrack has hosted their first World Series of Poker (WSOP) satellite qualifier tournament on Sunday and it was a great success. Hundreds of people began arriving as early as 5am to wait in line for their chance to win a $10,000 seat in the 2008 WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas.
Wheeling Island sold out their 330 seat tournament in just a few hours. Bob Marshall, President and General Manager of the facility said that due to the successful turnout Wheeling Island is going to add a second satellite tournament that will be held on February 24th.
Pre-registration to the second World Series of Poker qualifier tournament will be opened to the public on Monday at 12:01am in the Wheeling Island poker room and will close once they have 330 paid registrations.
Wheeling Island is going to be offering one WSOP satellite qualifier tournament each month now until June. They are also adding a regular schedule of 330 seat speciality tournaments in their showroom that will begin in March.
