Holland Concerned Over New Tax

In the Netherlands the Dutch state companies hold a monopoly in gambling, and they have recent concerns about a new tax that the Dutch cabinet would like to place a sixteen percent tax on gaming machines and slots, the on these machines in to would total about 40.85 percent.

  

In order for the Dutch to pass this type of law the Dutch Cabinet must also turn it over to the Dutch Parliament before it can become a law in that country.

  

For Dutch online operators it is yet to be clear how this new tax might affect the online gambling operators and several feel that it could put the company in danger and for these online operators they fear they will not make a profit should this new tax be approved and include the online casino operators in with the land based operators.

  

Between eighty and ninety million Euros is the amount of profit that the Holland Casino has reported that it bring in and according to a spokesman for the Holland Casino stated that should this pass to be a new tax law and include the Internet gaming Holland Casino would lose millions every year in their profits.
