Playtech Signs Deal in Asian Market
This deal that Playtech has negotiated is to provide online poker and player to player gaming with an online Asian gaming firm whose name has not been released.
Some of the games they will be providing are ones that are favorites in the Asian market such as Do-Di-Zhu, Cho-Da-Di and 13 Card Poker and this is just the beginning as Playtech will be adding more games within the next year to this online operator.
With this new deal in the Asian market Mor Weizer the Chief Executive of Playtech said in a press release that they feel this deal will bolster earnings in the second quarter of 2008 for Playtech. He went on to say after seeing the estimates of what this deal is worth he feels confident it may generate $4 to $5 million in revenue for the 2008 year.
Poker is taking a foothold with Asian online players and in the Asian market many of the countries allow some forms of online gambling and China which would be a large market is expected to follow with places such as Malaysia, Macau, the Philippines, Korea and Japan who all allow some online gambling.
