PokerTek Installs Poker Tables on Norwegian Pearl Cruise Ship
PokerTek recently announced that they had installed their automated poker tables and software on the Norwegian Pearl, a ship in the Norwegian Cruise Line. The tables were installed on a ninety day trial period with the possibility that the eleven other cruise ships in the Norwegian Cruise line would add tables as well.
PokerTek designed the automated tables to help casinos boost revenue by reducing labor costs and increasing the number of hands per hour that can be played. Jim Abbas the Vice President of Casino Operations for Norwegian Cruise Line commented: "We are eager to see how successful PokerPro is on one of our newest ships, Norwegian Pearl. The ship offers tremendous choices already, from bowling to rock climbing, and automated poker is one more exciting entertainment option. PokerPro was recently installed within our casino, which offers an array of traditional table games, along with a wide variety of slots not offered by any of our competitors."
Robert Perry the Vice President of Sales stated that PokerTek has seen great success with installations on other cruise lines and they expect the same results with the Norwegian Cruise Line. Perry commented that the addition allows for cruise ships to offer extra entertainment at a low cost.
