UK Officials Battle Manchester Casino

The Manchester City Council has asked for and been given approval to build a Las Vegas style casino in Manchester, this would create thousands of jobs in the area, bolster the local economy with millions of pounds that private residents would be spending.

 

However the UK government has halted the casino plans by the Manchester City Council and the council has vowed to fight this all the way to court if need be in order to move a head with their casino plans as the amount of revenue it could bring to Manchester's local economy.

 

These casino plans that have been put on hold have been done so be Gordon Brown who has alternative ideas on how to regenerate Manchester's local economy and the new ideas do not include gambling or casinos.

 

The plans by the Manchester City Council are for a super casino and this hold that has been placed on it by the UK government has made at least one official displeased with the decision. The councils Chief Executive has stated that he is displeased with the governments reaction and the temporary halt that has been placed on the construction of this super casino.
