He recently promised Arizona Republican Senator Jon Kyl that he would do everything he could possible do to make certain the that the billion online gambling industry would be stamped out. Now it seems Alberto Gonzales may have to renege on that promise.

Under the Attorney General's watch online gambling has been dealt one major set back after another but on Monday, White House officials announced the resignation of Alberto Gonzales and who has come under heavy scrutiny over the firing of several state attorneys.

Gonzales submitted his letter on Friday but was held by the White House until he met with President Bush. It will officially be announced today at a press conference.
