The Poker Players Alliance (PPA) work hard to try and get the online poker industry regulated. The group has thousands of members who all believe that poker should be legalized to help boost the economy. Recently the Chairman of the PPA wrote an article for the Washington DC Roll Call. The article explained how a regulated online poker industry could help the economy.
Alfonse D’Amato wrote about how the poker industry could create thousands of jobs for those who are without and billions of dollars in taxes. This movement alone would tremendously help the struggling economy.
D’Amato wrote in the article: “While business leaders and politicians debate how much, or how little, we should regulate the business community, the online poker industry and the millions of Americans who play on the Internet have been crying out for regulation and taxation.”
D’Amato continued to state that the ‘absence of government regulation’ in online poker and the efforts to ban the game online has left the United States consumer vulnerable and billions in tax revenues that could be made are not.
Hopefully D’Amato’s article has helped many understand the benefits of online poker. Maybe the PPA will have enough influence to help the online poker industry become regulated.
