Jul 20, 2007
Author: Cathy Roberts
Congressman Barney Frank has proposed a bill that will repeal the current Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) that was sneaked in the Port Security Bill last year at the last minute. Now he is asking Americans to help by calling their local Representatives and asking them to support the bill.

Congressman's Franks proposal, the Internet Gambling Regulatory and Enforcement Act (IGREA) would license, regulate and tax online gambling in the U.S. and in recent interviews, Congressman Frank asks for support.

"Call your Representative and your Senators and tell them to get out of your life. As the average American understands what's happened, my colleagues are going to be told, 'listen you made a mistake and you butt out of my business' and at that point I think we may be able to change it," said Congressman Frank.

The number of House Representatives that have publically endorsed Congressman Frank's proposal is ever growing. 218 votes are needed on order for this bill to be passed on to the Senate. Now is the time to let you voice be heard, Congressman Frank needs you.
