Extention Granted iMEGA vs UIGEA
Attorney and spokesman Joe Brennan, claims that UIGEA infringes on essential constitutional rights as well as setting a dangerous and disturbing precedent restricting I-commerce. The initial deadline for the defense to respond prior to the request was August 17th.
With the current extension the US Department of Justice (USDoJ), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and Federal Reserve Board of Governors are permitted to submit their response regarding the complaint by September 4th. A request has not been made as of yet for an extension on the hearing date, which is also September 4th. US District Court Judge the Honorable Mary L. Cooper, in the Trenton Division, will hear the case, and should a hearing extension be requested she would also consider each stand there upon.
