Nevada Legislature Unsettled About Online Gaming Laws
The Gaming Control Board has initiated a study that is now with the UNLV International Gambling Institute. The study is focusing on Nevada residents, in finding out just how many residents gamble online, as well as looking at how many residents would gamble online if it were to become legal. They would like to find just where the residents stand on the issue of Internet gaming.
Results are expected soon, and would give legislators the needed information to make an informed decision on the issue.
This is certainly not the only time that online gaming has been brought before Legislature.
The Wire Act, written in the 1960's, was formed to battle organized crime as well as sports betting. and the Department of Justice has pointed out that all Internet gaming is illegal, making a decision even harder for the Nevada Legislature.
