Support Builds Against UIGEA

On April 26th of this year, Representative Barney Frank proposed the bill that will overturn the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 (UIGEA). This bill is dubbed IGREA or the Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act of 2007. To date there are 36 cosponsors for the bill.


The newest supporter is House Democrat Robert Scott, who agreed to support HR 2046, after having gone on record against the UIGEA in October 2006, when the bill was passed. He is serving his eighth term in the State of Virginia, USA. After spending so much time in Washington DC, and the House of Representatives, he has become influential in many areas. Currently he is serving on the following committees:


Budget
Labor and Education
Judiciary
Constitution
Civil Rights
Civil Liberties
and is a standing member of the Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security sub committee


A total of 218 vote will be needed to pass this bill through the US House of Representatives, with 36 supporters since April 26th, the support is growing at a steady rate in the last 5 months. Work for further support continues, as the current average is roughly 7 new co-sponsors each month.
