Mar 14, 2008
Author: Rebecca Rosales

Some say that poker is a game of chance and not skill but if you ask any poker player they will not agree.  Annie Duke is one such poker player that thinks poker is a skill and she is definately skilled at the game.

Professional poker player Annie Duke has never regretted her decision to quit school to take on a poker playing career.  At the time she had already graduated Columbia University with a major in English and Psychology and had went on the University of Pennsylvania to study psycholinguistics.

She stayed at the university for five years at that school and was close to finisher her PhD when she dropped out to gamble on a poker career.

Her decision to start a poker career was the right one since she has won millions of dollars since she turned pro.  She won a $2 million dollar pot in 2004 at the first ever World Series of Poker Tournament Champions.

She is now one of the most well known faces in poker and said,  "I think I found what I'm supposed to be doing and I'm very lucky to have done that, I'm extremely happy with the way my life has gone".
