Cliff Josephy and UltimateBet Part Ways
The rumor mill has been hot for about a week now with talk of UltimateBet and poker pro Cliff Josephy parting ways. Josephy was the first addition to UltimateBet’s Star Players Team back in May but according to a recent online forum post at the TwoPlusTwo website, Josephy is no longer with the company.
Josephy wrote: “just wanted you guys to know that you will no longer see me as a redlined pro in their lobbies nor will you see me wearing their patches at live events anymore.”
Many online reports state that Josephy was contacted by Paul Leggett, the Chief Operating Officer for the owners of UltimateBet. Josephy was asked to have a meeting with Tokwiro Enterprise officials but when Josepy responded Leggett told him that he would speak with someone else.
Josephy commented: “We set up a conference call last Friday and the other gentleman said ‘Before the others get on the line, I wanted to tell you that we’re no longer paying you starting next month.”
“It was as out of the blue as anything can be,” said Josephy.“I thought it was surprising. I still haven’t heard from the people who were in favor of having me originally. Maybe they just wanted to use my name through their rough times to add credibility to the site.”
