Hellmuth Fashionably Late For Event 1D Grand Entrance

Phil Hellmuth has gained a reputation for fashionably late appearances at large poker tournaments and the WSOP Main Event 1D was no exception. He arrived in a racing uniform, accompanied by 11 beautiful women to each side of him - one for each of his gold bracelets earned in WSOP tournaments.

Though typically late for such events, Hellmuth had a good excuse this time. The night before, Hellmuth got into an automobile accident while driving the UltimateBet racing car he was supposed to arrive in for Event 1D. While he maintained the suit, the helmet and his favorable smile - the car did not make it.

According to one of the ladies who arrived with Hellmuth, who wished to remain anonymous, "We were supposed to make Phil look like a pimp."
Apparently she had been waiting quite some time for Hellmuth to show up.

Though two hours late for the tournament, Hellmuth told members of the media he had sustained only minor injuries, leaving him a bit sore, but comfortable enough to participate. 1,700 fellow players will put theirs skills to the test in an attempt to prevent Phil Hellmuth from claiming his 12th gold bracelet.
