Patrik Antonius and Tom Dwan Begin Challenge
Poker fans have been anticipating the Tom “Durr” Dwan challenge for some months now and it has finally begun. Three players accepted the challenge by Dwan and over the past few days one player has competed against Dwan.
Patrik Antoinus and Dwan have played three sessions of poker over the past couple of days. Antonius, Phil Ivey and David Benyamine are the only poker players who have accepted Dwan’s challenge. Earlier this year Dwan challenged poker players to at least fifty thousand hands of poker with at least $200/$400 stakes on four tables simultaneously. Anyone can challenge Dwan in Pot Limit Omaha or NLHE and if Dwan is up after the hands then he wins $500,000 from the competitor. If Dwan is down then the competitor wins $1.5 million from Dwan and the pot.
So Antonius has played Dwan a few times on Full Tilt and at the end of the last session the duo was up over the 2,910 hand mark, so they still have a ways to go. Before the first break Dwan had won $36,661 but once play resumed Antonius was up $56,178.
During one point of play Dwan was up $100,000 plus and Antonius took the largest pot of the session, $152,866. Both were showing their skills in the game and astounding anyone who was looking on. It will be interesting to see where this challenge goes once game play resumes.
