2008 World Series of Poker Champion Peter Eastgate and his brother Casper have started a charitable organization to help children all over the world who are in need of assistance. The WSOP main event winner will use his new found fame to generate funds for his charity.

Eastgate has pledged to donate one percent of his tournament earnings to the charity and is encouraging others to do the same. Eastgate has even started a website where people can donate. The website is called friendsofeastgate.

The Friends of Eastgate charity will send the donations to charitable organizations all over the world that work with children. Eastgate commented during a press conference recently that ‘a child in need is worth helping’ and he is doing what he can to help.

Several poker pros have joined to help the cause. Boris Becker announced that one percent of his earnings will go toward the charity after he has competed in the EPT Copenhagen. The new charity will also be holding many charitable events which include a poker tournament that will take place in Copenhagen in May.
