Player Thrown out of WSOP Circuit Event
You hear about unsportsmanlike conduct in sports from time to time, but in poker? Well it finally happened yesterday at the World Series of Poker circuit event that was held at Caesars Atlantic City.
The chip leader at the final table was disqualified for unsportsmanlike conduct. The player that got disqualified was revealed in a press release from the WSOP the player.
That player is Lesley Thornburg, a general contractor from Richmond, Virginia who was thrown out of the game and "forcefully removed from the tournament room" at that time there were five players left in the opening event that had a $300 buyin and originally started with more then 1,000 players.
At the time that Thornburg was disqualified he had earned about $19,000 so far and according to the official tournament report he had already gotten two warnings for his behavior that was described as a "Ceaseless display of loud comments and baiting tactics lasting several hours.
Apparently the final straw was when Thornburg "began jamming chips into the pot with reckless abandon" and was warned again then finally, when he shoved half his stack into the pot and announced "all in," officials ejected him for the "annoying and confusing antics".
