Poker and Art Become Opportunity for Sandra Palmer
Sandra has been designing some of the most exceptional, and celebrated art for poker players. Particularly admired have been her attention grabbing card protector pieces. Utilizing heavier metals like nickel-plating, she designs card covering pieces a little larger than the silver dollar.
"Players must cover their cards to protect their hands," Palmer explains, "as an artist I recognized it was an exciting opportunity for creativity and individuality." A Palmer card-protector is celebrated for its heaviness, strength and attractiveness.
It's called "cloisonné" art; a flat metal sculpture filled with enamel colors and fired to a hard finish. Sandra sells these for about $10 each.
There are several singular designs, including ones in which a player can have a photo-customized design for their centerpiece.
Sandra Palmers work is as unique to her as it often is to the player who buys one. Many who purchase from her see her work as their lucky piece.
