Poker pro, Tom Dwan, recently announced he wanted to hold a live Million Dollar Challenge which would see Dwan face poker players in a special heads up game. Sammy George is the first player to sign up for the challenge and Dwan is hoping to find three more players for the game.

The game will be a special heads up game with a $500,000 buy-in with blinds set at $500/$1,000. George is an experienced cash game player and pro of the tournament circuit in London. The challenge will begin in London next month and George will be the first to face off against Dwan.

Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport, the group promoting the event, stated that George is a good opponent for Dwan because he “loves the limelight and the buzz” and is a “competent player and has played plenty of hands in high-stakes games.”

When this match up begins next month it will be interesting to see which poker player will prevail. Dwan talks a big game but he also can play the game of poker, which is why he keeps issuing these challenges. But it will be interesting to see if George is able to give Dwan a run for his money.
