Women In Poker Hall of Fame Announces Inductees
The Women In Poker Hall of Fame announced this week that three women will be inducted to the Hall of Fame this June. The induction ceremony will part of the Ladies International Poker Series schedule as the Women In Poker Hall of Fame is an extension of LIPS.
The three women to be inducted are June Field, Cyndy Violette and Jan Fisher. The inductees are known in the poker industry for many different reasons.
June Field is better known by those in the poker industry instead of at the poker table. In 1988 Field founded Card Player magazine and Poker Digest, which is not operational anymore. Jan Fisher is known for many reasons. She is a Card Player columnist, an instructor of WPT Boot Camp, an announcer for the Professional Poker Tour, and that is just a few reasons Fisher is a common fixture in the poker industry.
Cyndy Violette is probably the most recognizable of the three ladies to be inducted to the Hall of Fame. Violette is affiliated with several poker programs including Poker Royale, WSOP, The Superstars of Poker as well as a WSOP bracelet holder.
On June 4th a special tournament will be held at the Golden Nugget to benefit the Poker Gives charity and on the 5th the ladies will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. On the 6th, LIPS will hold satellites with the winners earning a seat to the LIPS Championship which will take place in August.
