Women in Poker Hall of Fame Nominees Inducted

Jun 9, 2009
Author: Sadonna Price

Cyndy Violette, Jan Fisher and June Field were inducted into the Women in Poker Hall of Fame last week at the second annual induction ceremony. The inductees were joined by last year’s inductees: Barbara Enright, Susie Isaacs, Linda Johnson and Marsha Waggoner to celebrate their induction into the Hall of Fame.

Each woman including last year’s members, were given a Rockwell watch, a Dione statuette and a dozen roses. Mike Sexton served as the master of ceremonies for the event dinner and dance, which was followed by a silent auction of donated items. The celebration took place at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino.

Each woman was honored for their contribution in the poker industry and each woman’s accomplishments were mentioned during the gala. The gala was themed after Greek mythology. The story from the mythology used for the gala was the story of Pleiades which is the story of the sisterhood of seven goddesses. This was a unique theme to represent the seven women to be honored at the event.
