Young Online Poker Player Banned For Life
Online poker player, Josh Field, at only 18 years of age, will no longer be able to hold an account or play poker at PokerStars. The lifetime ban was handed down by the online poker room after Field, known online as "JJProdigy", was caught using multiple accounts.
Multiple accounting is strictly prohibited at online poker rooms, due to the high ability to cheat. Some have speculated that PokerStars was pressured to enforce the lifetime ban by other players, since the online poker room proclaims a 'zero tolerance' attitude towards all forms of cheating.
Others have speculated that the punishment was too harsh, as Josh Field publicly apologized on a number of popular poker forums last week. He admitted to multi-accounting, stating that he knew it was wrong.
Field has recently qualified online for the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, a valuable land-based casino tournament scheduled for this coming Saturday. However, when PokerStars handed down its decision, it included a ban of all PokerStars land-based events as well. Fields will not be eligible to participate in the Caribbean Adventure tournament.
The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, worth millions in cash prizes, will take place from January 5th through the 10th at the Atlantis Casino and Resort in the Bahamas - minus one qualifier, Josh "JJProdigy" Field.
