Absolute Poker in question

The internet is buzzing about the recent concerns on Absolute Poker and the cash players on the site. It has been defending themselves for some time now regarding the prospect of 'superuser' accounts in the poker room.

The concern connected with Absolute Poker and their security came into question when members speculated on the results of three separate players. The buzz is that either the players in question have learned to hack the software at the major us poker room, or the players have been granted the superuser permissions.
The controversy began when the user alias 'Potdripper' made a questionable call. During a high buy in tournament where the user called on the turn with a 9/ 10 when their opponent was holding a 9/ 2 for a busted flush draw. 'Potdripper' won the entire tournament. Prior to this, some of the choices were questionable strategy.

This began further debate on two cash players, ‘Doubledrag' and ‘Graycat', who have allegedly seen increasing returns over a very short time frame. According to the forum chatter, where this is being hotly debated, these two accounts would often throw away hands on flops despite raising pre-flop, many are thus inferring they were aware of when their opponents hit the flop. Adding to the controversy, it has been reported that these two accounts do not call on a river, but instead will raise or fold, again further indicating to many they know their opponents cards.

AbsolutePoker.com responded in a statement to the public clarifying that it has temporarily frozen the suspicious accounts while a thorough investigation is currently being conducted. The site stated that it has researched the play of the three suspicious players exhaustively and found no proof that they had knowledge of other players' hole cards. The site added it has yet to find any evidence of wrong doing with the players who's hands are in question, this is based on a sample of hands from each player. "There were hands that were played poorly from a poker strategy perspective and these players did receive a fortunate result," read the statement.

At this time, Absolute Poker.com, said that it has found no evidence of the players in question, were involved in any form of improper activity, however the investigation has yet to be closed. UK Poker.
