IPN Bad Beat Hit Yet Again
GTECH G2’s International Poker Network (IPN) recently announced their bad beat jackpot was hit when an unlucky player was beat on a qualifying poker hand. The losing player Roger2010 earned over €210,000 for losing the hand and hitting the €601,000 jackpot.
Roger2010’s quad eights were beat by four queens on a €0.50/€1 no-limit table. The winner of the hand was o1nfl1p and he earned €105,254 for winning the hand. The other players at the table earned €15,036.
“We boosted the jackpot last week so that the next winner would get at least €100, 000,” said Per Karlsson, Head of Poker for GTECH G2. “As the total Jackpot went over €600,000, we had a feeling it was about to be hit.”
The bad beat was last hit at IPN back in August for $412,000. The winner of that bad beat did not even know they had won the prize until someone else at the table pointed it out. Players qualify to hit the bad beat by sitting at a designated table and using both pocket cards in their winning or losing hand. The losing hand must consist of four of kind sixes or better and have at least four players in the game.
