The Ladbrokes Poker Pub League has a winner, the Kiln Bar in Scalloway has beat out 500 other public houses that were all competing to join the league.  The Kiln Bar originally entered as a 'joke' and then players started playing poker online.

The bar has regular poker nights on Friday and Saturday and the patrons wanted to sign up to see what would happen and then they were on their way.  Owner Vera Sertice said, "They thought we would maybe sign up and see how we got on, so they did and it just escalated. I think we had 40 registered players from the pub playing online."

Now that they have won Ladbrokes Poker will be putting on a special celebrity tournament in Kiln that will be hosted by Sky Poker's Norman Pace.

"I'm really excited about going to the Shetlands. I think our party is going to go down in the history books of the Islands. Pub regulars will enjoy a fantastic poker tournament with professional dealers, tournament direction and a generous supply of refreshments courtesy of Ladbrokespoker.com. The winner will also get to play me in a head-up duel!" said Norman Pace.
