Online Poker Player Wins Absolute Poker Bad Beat Jackpot

We all hope to win a large pot when playing poker but sometimes you can win when you lose a hand. Absolute Poker has a bad beat jackpot that is up for grabs on their website and this past week online player EMILIE14 won $270,843.03 after hitting the bad beat jackpot.

On Wednesday, EMILIE14 was playing at the bad beat jackpot tables and hit a jack-high straight flush and PEACE2UALL hit a royal flush which beat EMILIE14’s hand. This triggered the jackpot of course because to win the bad beat jackpot a player must have four eights or better and be beaten.

The overall jackpot was worth $807,543.95 with EMILIE14 taking the largest portion. PEACE2UALL won $132,904.14 and the other two players at the table won $2,678.25. Fifty seven other players were sitting at the bad beat jackpot tables and they each got $1,678.25 just for playing at the tables.

Players win 65% of the overall jackpot while the other 35% goes to start the new jackpot. The jackpot will then build by .50 at a time until the next lucky player manages to be beaten.
