When a poker room opens its doors online there is always the possibility that they will not do well and fail. Sometimes the online poker rooms thrive and become driving forces in the poker industry and sometimes they do not. It was recently announced by Entraction Holding AB that their online poker room, Cardroom2, will be closing at the end of the year.

The company announced the poker room’s closing was due to low traffic. Cardroom2 allowed players to participate in poker games over the International Poker Network from Boss Media and they confirmed that traffic between the networks not extensive. Traffic was so low that the revenues from poker for Entraction from the site were only about five percent.

Entraction has now terminated their contract with Boss Media and will be offering poker games through their very own network. Peter Astrom the Chief Executive Officer for Entraction commented: “Cardroom2 has been a good possibility for players to play in two different networks using one account. Because of the strong growth in the Entraction poker network, there is no longer a need for Cardroom2.”
