The top professional poker players within Asia will be competing for their share of the $1 million dollar guaranteed prize pool at the first stop of the Asian Poker Tour (APT) soon.

The event will start on May 27th and run until June 1st at the Dusit Manila Hotel in the Philippines.  So far there are 400 people registered to play at the tournament and among the poker talent hoping to make it to final table are Steve Sung, Quinn Do and Nam Le.

Steve Sung doesn't have a major title under his belt as yet but he has been playing in major tournaments for several years sine he turned professional poker player and this might be the event where he grabs that title.  He has placed in several World Poker Tour and World Series of Poker events including his second place finish in the 2008 Bay 101 Shooting Star World Poker Tour Championship.

Quinn Do turned pro in 2004 and has been a regular in live major poker events ever since.  He has won a World Series of Poker bracelet at the 2005 WSOP Limit Hold'em Event.

He has also placed several times in other notable events including a second place finish at the Bellagio Challenge Cup Championship in 2005 and recently finished in second again at the 2008 LA Poker Classic WPT Championship.

Nam Le is also another poker player to reckon with as he has several first place finishes under his belt already.  He won first place at the 2006 Bay 101 Shooting Star WPT championship and later won first place at the 2006 Scotty Nguyen Poker Challenge II.  He has also placed in several WSOP and WPT events and his most recent finish in fourth place was at the 2008 LA Poker Classic WPT Championship.

Sung, Do and Le all have considerable talent they are bringing to this event and they are considered to be the favorites to win at this APT event.  They still have to face some stiff competition from other top poker players however so this one should be fun to watch.

They have made a pact that if one of them doesn't win the title they will try again at the three other events this year as the APT will continue on to Macau in August then on to Seoul in October and will finish up in Singapore in December.
