Online Security an Issue for Some
According to a study that was conducted by PayPoint 81 percent of people that gamble online are concerned with online security. The study was reported by eGaming Review which also said that 61 percent had expressed concern about what options would be available if they should encounter a problem gambling online.
There is reason for some concern as it is illegal in the United States and other countries to transfer funds from players to online gambling sites. There was also a recent report in Forbes Magazine that stated that funds belonging to Bodog Poker had been seized from four major US banks.
Customers are also questioning their abilities to cash out. The study states that "40 percent of respondents expressed concern over security around the payment of winnings.” Bodog later said that the funds that were seized were not directly tied to it's own payment processors and that their players' money was still safe.
But despite being reassured there are still online gamblers that are worried about security. Is there money, identity, files and other information they might have stored on their computer safe.
