ESPN's Live Coverage of the WSOP

As many poker fans already know the Harrah’s Entertainment and ESPN WSOP television partnership was extended last August until 2010. Recently the novice has enjoyed the opportunity to learn from the pros by watching them through the ESPN coverage. This will be continued tradition for the World Series of Poker for another three years. They are preparing to and are airing 32 hours of the events, including a live pay per view showing of the final table. That should be available around twenty dollars for the package.

What some fans maybe unaware of is that the coverage will begin before the preliminary events are complete. This is a first in the world of poker. Airing on July 10th at 8pm Eastern Time, the WSOP will be seen on ESPN in one-hour blocks. Every Tuesday after viewers can anticipate the new WSOP events. There will be an EVENT 7 special with 2-hour coverage up to and including the final table. Each tournament event summary aired will build to the pay per view of the final table of the main event on July 17th. Once the main event starts ESPN will follow the whole tournament, closely – giving the fan a chance to as well. 

Since gambling has been on the rise in this country, ESPN and Harrah’s
Entertainment have been able to bring the WSOP to the mainstream table. It is intense to watch, fun to learn, and great to look forward to. Now with a Pay Per View event, a 2-hour special still in the preliminaries, the poker fan can expect to see records broken, history made, and the professional edge. What a way to view the play.
