MusicBox Creates Theme for WSOP on ESPN

ESPN has been airing the World Series of Poker for the last four years, each time they have had the same theme song. This year the WSOP officials thought it would be good to change the theme from a western rock guitar riff inspired musical rendition, to something more ‘up to date'. ESPN Executive Producer Matt Maranz followed up the request with a call to MusicBox, a firm known for TV and Movie themes.

It was not difficult for Maranz to chose this company to work on the theme music. MusicBox has a long history of designing quality impact music for everything in the media industry, online, off line, tv and radio. They have won several awards for their custom scoring and collaborators. Among the awards they have recieved are 1 Oscar Award, 4 Oscar Nominations, 10 Emmy Awards, over 20 Emmy Nominations, Clios and several other awards and recognition. Regularly their scoring is found in feature films, dramatic TV, reality TV, documentaries, main title themes, advertising, trailers and promos. This really shows why they were chosen by ESPN to showcase the most impacting poker event on television today.

The goal for the new theme is something trendier, fitting into the Las Vegas atmosphere and attitude. Matt Maranz has received samples quickly, and was able to determine the right theme that is best to showcase the World Series of Poker, even down to the Main Event.
