New Poker Television Show Created by Montel Williams
Montel Williams, talk show host and poker player has announced that he has created a new poker television show called International Team Poker League. The show states they will revolutionize the game of poker on television for the New Year when they combine reality TV with poker.
Beginning in March, satellite tournaments will take place that will be televised beginning in November. Reality TV style segments about the players will be shown as well as No Limit Texas Hold’em game play. Players will be selected to be on the program by participating in land based satellites as well as online.
Players can win an entry into a three day Draft Pool Seeding Tournament that will take place at a Las Vegas casino. The leading players will be selected and placed on six teams. They then will compete for the highest chips stacks to move on to the SuperTable team event, which takes place in one day.
The winning team will be filmed as they partake in the poker lifestyle and play with the poker pros. They could find themselves a career in the game.
Williams commented on the television show: "I love poker - it's a game that has everything, played by kings and leaders and regular Joes alike. It crosses boundaries and borders, now, thanks to technology and the internet, a global phenomenon that brings people of different ethnicities and origin together around the world."
He added, "It is truly international, and the time is right for the International Team Poker League to take poker to a new level and a wider audience."
