WSOPE to Air on ESPN

Starting this February poker fans will be able to watch the 2008 World Series of Poker Europe on ESPN. The television station has announced they will begin airing the Main Event portion on February 1st. The series will air in eight one hour episodes.

The first four episodes of the eight will air back to back on ESPN starting at 6:00 PM ET before the series will move to ESPN2. The episodes will be on a rerun schedule on ESPN2. The show will begin on the same Sunday as the Super Bowl.

This will be interesting to watch as poker fans are used to watching the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. I would imagine the Europe version will have a different vibe. The WSOPE will also gain more exposure and the next one may see an increase in number of players.
