2008 PokerStars EPT Polish Open Results
PokerStars 2008 European Poker Polish Open has ended with only two hundred and seventeen players competing. The action lasted five days and the low turnout was due to the vast majority of poker events going on in Europe. Even so, those who participated played their hearts out and Joao Barbosa came out on top as the title winner.
Nine players made it to the final table and the first to go was Michael Muheim. Sergey Shcherbatskiy called with Pocket Aces after Muheim went all in with A-9. The board read Q-10-9-J-3 and Muheim would be out in ninth.
Next to go was Ludovic Lacay who went all in with pocket aces and was called by Nico Behling who held pocket 8s. The flop showed 8-7-5 giving Behling trips and no help for Lacay at the turn or river cards. Lacay was out in 8th.
The next few to go would be Andrea Benelli in seventh, Sergey Scherbatskiy in sixth, Arnaud Mattern in fifth and Atanas Gueorguiev in fourth. Now all that remained were Dario Minieri, Joao Barbosa and Nico Behling. Joao Barbosa would bet preflop with pocket 9s and Minieri would call with pocket 7s. The board fell Q-3-3-8-4 which knocked Minieri out in third.
Heads up play would then begin between Behling and Barbosa. It took some time but the final hand went as follows: Behling went all in with J-7 and Barbosa called with A-10. The board fell A-7-3-6-6 and Behling was out in second place leaving Barbosa to take home the title and first place prize.
