On Sunday, July 20th Cayetano Garcia made poker history as the oldest person ever to win a major live poker tournament in Europe.  Garcia is 75 years old and he took the crown at the final table of the Everest Poker sponsored Spanish Poker Tour in Valencia.

He plowed through a playing field of younger rivals over the weekend to make an agreement to split the prize pool among the last three that were still standing.  The final three players agreed to share the second and third place and got €19,500 each.  Garcia took home €26,500 to Alicante for taking first place.

Lautoro Curi a 26 year old player from Spain and Alain Char a 28 year old player from France were happy to be beaten by 75 year old Garcia.  Garcia will now be sent on to the €2,500 buyin event in the Canary Islands in December, courtesy of Everest Poker.
