Alexander Bolotin Wins Ante Up For Africa Tournament
The Ante Up For Africa Charity Tournament took place just a few days ago and many of the top poker pros and celebrity poker players were in attendance to play a little poker and raise money for charity. The tournament was supporting the refugees from the Sudan region of Darfur and 138 players registered to bring in money for the cause.
Out of all the players competing, it was Alexander Bolotin who was able to outlast the field and take the first place win of $177,730. Bolotin was able to rub elbows with several big names in Hollywood like Ben Affleck and Matt Damon as well as other poker pros such as Jennifer Harmon and Andy Bloch.
Players were encouraged to donate at least fifty percent of their winnings to the charity and Bolotin stated to Norman Chad during an interview that he would be donating fifty percent of his winnings to the charity.
But to win the first place prize Bolotin had to outlast Adam Richardson in heads up play. Heads up play would last only one hand as Bolotin put his A-J up against the 7-5 cards of Richardson. Bolotin’s hand was better and he was able to earn the win.
