All-Star Poker Challenge Scheduled For October
Okay, so maybe not your "favorite" celebrities - it's more lack an 80's flashback really. Scheduled to appear are Bo Jackson, best remembered for his amazing skills as a running back and his "Bo Knows" themed commercials; Jorge Paez, Jr., lightweight boxing champion noted for his back-flips in the ring and an outrageous 'mullet' hair-do; Murray Langston, better known as 'The Unknown Comic' for his frequent appearances on The Gong Show back in the 80's, telling jokes with a paper bag over his head. To top it all off, the anticipated event will be hosted by none other than 'Mr. Kotter' himself ( of Welcome Back Kotter), Gabe Kaplan.
A few local celebrities will be on the scene as well, including Coachella Valley Mayor, Eduardo Garcia and U-92 FM DJ Ant Dogg.
The two day poker tournament will begin at 2pm, consisting of 30-minute rounds of No-Limit Hold'Em. The final table is scheduled for 12pm noon, October 14th. Buy-in is $560, with players from all skill levels welcome to join. Each player will receive $10,000 in poker chips to start.
The $560 buy-in will be divided up as follows: $500 to the prize pool, $50 to the casino, $10 to dealer gratuity. Buy-in purchases are now available at the Spotlight 29 Casino box office or gift shop.
