Auckland Anniversary Poker Championship Set for This January

SkyCity Casino in Auckland, New Zealand is preparing for the Anniversary Poker Championship that it set to take place on January 19th. The tournament will take place for seven days and offer a minimum prize pool of NZ$50,000.

Players who are interested in entering the main event must pay the buy-in of NZ$1,100. The 2008 SkyCity Festival of Poker winner, Daniel Cracker, is expected to participate in the Championship event as well as many of the top New Zealand poker players.

The executive manager of table games at SkyCity Casino, Ejaaz Dean commented that the tournament should become a major event on the New Zealand poker scene, which is still developing. Dean commented: “The possibilities in New Zealand are endless – we’re just at the very beginning of our own poker craze. We want the Auckland Anniversary Poker Championship to become an annual fixture on the poker circuit and an absolute must for all top New Zealand poker players.”
