Brent Roberts Wins WSOPC Harrah
Almost two hundred players paid the $5,000 buy-in to play in the World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event stop at Harrah’s casino in Atlantic City this past week. The prize pool created was well over $800,000 with first place taking home $280,040.
The big winner of the day was professional poker player Brent Roberts who has cashed out in several WSOP events and other big tournaments but this was his first WSOPC Main Event win. Roberts was up against Phillip Reed in heads-up play and was behind in chips when play began.
Reed had $2 million chips to Roberts $1.6 million. Roberts managed to pull ahead when hit a flush on one hand and the final hand was not long after he pulled ahead. 9 clubs, 8 diamonds and King spades came with the flop and Reed went in for $120,000. Roberts pushed in $340,000 and Reed went all in.
Roberts called and showed 9 diamonds and 8 spades which would be two pair. Reed flipped a Queen of diamonds and a Jack of spades. A two of spades came on the turn and a five of diamonds on the river locked in Roberts win.
