Celebrity Poker Tournament in Las Vegas
This Tuesday will be the first ever Celebrity Poker Tournament hosted by the T.J. Martell Foundation. The foundation was founded by Tony Martell after the death of his son who suffered from leukemia. The foundation raises money to fund research centers for treatments and cures for leukemia, cancer and AIDS. Robin Leach will be the Master of Ceremonies and many celebrities have already confirmed their attendance.
The National Finals Rodeo is also taking place this upcoming week, so many country stars and rodeo participants will be attending the poker event and trying their luck at winning. Buddy Jewell, Charlie Pride, Lee Greenwood and Tracy Byrd are among the country music stars who will be in attendance as well rodeo stars Luke Bryan, Houston Hutto, Rodney Carrington and Trent Willmon.
The tournament has a $500 buy-in plus a $40 registration fee. The tournament will feature add-ons and re-buys as well. These as well as additional proceeds will go to the T.J. Martell Foundation. The tournament has enough seating for 150 players and 120 will cash out. The prize pool for the event is $50,000.
Before the event there will be a charity auction and media reception that will begin at 11 am on Tuesday December 11th. The tournament will then kick off at 12 noon. The foundation gives their support to eight of the top research hospitals in the United States in the hopes that they will find a cure for leukemia, cancer and AIDS.
