Charity Poker Tournament Looks to Break Online Record

William Hill Poker will be hosting a special charity tournament on June 26th and they are hoping to break the online record for most players competing in a poker tournament at one time. The special tournament will aid the No Surrender Charitable Trust which was created by Jason Boas in 2007.

The No Surrender Charitable Trust uses their website to bring young adults together to support each other with their emotions and other feelings that come along with having a life threatening illness. Boas created the organization after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at only thirty three years of age.

The online event hopes to attract more than one thousand people and the prize pool is estimated at over $30,000 with a $10,000 VIP Trip to Vegas up for grabs for the winner. The tournament costs just $30 to enter and $20 re-buys will be available as well. The tournament is set to kick off at 8pm on June 26th.

Marc Maley the Trustee of No Surrender Charitable Trust commented: “It would be great to break the World Record for an online tournament, which stands at 35,000 players, took 9 hours to play out and more than 8,750 hit the money, but realistically, we’d settle for a tenth of that number and set a new British Record. We expect to have some celebrity players and some well known pro’s who’ll have bounties on them for anyone who knocks them out.”
