Charity Tournament to be hosted by Phil Hellmuth
Poker pro Phil Hellmuth will be hosting a special tournament in November to benefit families of police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. The event will last three days and feature three different tournaments.
The event is called Hold’em for Heroes and will take place at the Fort McDowell Casino in Arizona. The event will take place from November 19th to the 21st. the event took place last year and raised $500,000 for the charity. Hellmuth is hoping to raise more money this year.
Hellmuth commented: “Over the last several years and especially since 9/11, my respect for policemen, firemen and the people who protect us has risen higher and higher. Our Hold’em for Heroes charity poker tournament gives money to the Fallen Officers Foundation, which supports officers and the families of offices who were killed in the line of duty.”
The event will have three tournaments, each with different buy-ins. The first tournament will take place on the 19th and have a $115 buy-in. the next tournament will take place on the 20th and will have a $265 buy-in. the event to close out the event will have a $1,000 buy-in for the high rollers.
