Colin McTaggart Wins GUKPT
The Grosvenor UK Poker Tour stopped in Walsall recently and the main event of the stop saw 206 players competing. Thirty year old Colin McTaggart was able to outlast the field and take down the first place win of the tournament.
With the win, McTaggart became the second person to win the tournament after earning a free entry from the online site aworldofpoker. McTaggart won a free roll organized by BlueSquare and aworldofpoker to make it to the tournament.
McTaggart commented on the win by stating: “It had been my goal to play in a GUKPT main event this year and I was delighted to have won my way in via the AWOP Players' Club. It is a dream to have gone on to claim the win. All it has cost me is £30 in petrol money.”
The next stop of the tour will be in London at the Victoria Casino. The event will take place from the 18th to the 28th of March and the buy-in for the main event is £1,500.
