David Saab Wns APT Poker Tour Event

David Saab has emerged as the victor of the 2008 Asian Poker Tour as he outlasted 300 other players in the finals of the six day event on Sunday at the Dusit Thani Manila Hotel in Makati City. 

The 35 year old player from Australia was the last man sitting at the felt at the No Limit Texas Hold'em event after he beat out Chris Roh from South Korea after six hours of play.

Saab started out the day as the chip leader with 2.2 million in chips compared to Roh's 800,000 in chips, Roh managed to stay in the tournament for quite a while before finally taking second place in the event. 

David Saab got $280,000 dollars for his first place finish and Roh got $150,000 dollars for fininshing in second place.  Satoru Ishii went home in third place and he cashed out for $100,000 dollars in the event.

Asian Poker Tour CEO Chris Parker has announced a $1,500,000 guaranteed prize pool for the next event that will be held in Macau.  The tour is heading for the StarWorld Hotel and Casino where the event will kick off on August 27th and run til the 31st, buy in for the event will be $5,000 + $300.
