Day one of the inaugural Asian Poker Tour is passed us now, and Karina Jett leaves the room for the night as chip leader.

This tournament is another mile stone for the poker world, as the first ever Asian Poker Tour event. The event is taking place in the Philippines at the Dusit Thani Manila Hotel. Several well known poker pro's are present for the game, including according to Card Player, Huck Seed, Quinn Do and Dan Schreiber.

More than 250 players filled the room for this poker tournament, buying in for $2,500 each. Think that's a big buy in? Players of this event have asked for a bigger buyin, and in response, officials have announced that the Macau event scheduled to be held between the 26th and 31st of August will feature a 5k buy-in and a prize pool guaranteed to be at least 1 and a half million dollars.
