ECOOP III Main Event Results
Almost one thousand three hundred players participated in the Main Event of the European Championship of Online Poker III (ECOOP III) but only one would be victorious and that one player was Eoghan “Intruder123” O’Dea.
O’Dea won $315,000 for the first place finish and the name might sound familiar as Eoghan is the son of Donnacha O’Dea, a World Series of Poker bracelet holder in Pot Limit Omaha. Play lasted for just over fifteen hours and players had to ante up a $1,060 buy-in to participate. The top one hundred and fifty players were paid a part of the $1.5 million prize pool.
O’Dea not only won the large first place prize, he also won an 18 carat gold bracelet which was designed just for the Main Event winner, so it is one of a kind. This was a great tournament for O’Dea as it was his largest win to date.
Eric Booth, the Head of Poker at Paddypowerpoker commented on O’Dea’s win: We would like to congratulate Eoghan on his fantastic victory in the ECOOP III Main Event and wish him luck in the Poker Million later this week. Paddypowerpoker.com players did themselves proud over the two weeks of the ECOOP festival, with numerous final table appearances, all highlighted by Eoghan capturing the biggest prize on offer!"
